Atlantic City FC secured a 3-0 victory against First State FC on Friday, June 13, at 7:00 PM at Abessinio Stadium in Wilmington, Delaware. This was the team’s fourth match in the League for Clubs’ inaugural season, following a postponed game against Braveheart SC and a 2-1 loss to FC Monmouth on May 31. Coached by Andrew Catalana, Chad Catalana, and Paul Bechtelheimer, Atlantic City FC improved their record to 2 wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie.
The starting lineup 🔵 featured R. Moroney (#01) in goal, with defenders James Cahill (#12), K. Forsyth (#03), K. Perlaza (#27), and Aiden McGuigan (#14). Midfielders D. Bradshaw (#28) and Uche Wokocha (#10) anchored the center, while Luke McNamee (#23) and D. Gonzalez (#21) played the wings. R. Gale (#34) and R. Cleary (#05) started up top. Substitutes T. Hudak (#7), M. Ceccanechio (#29), M. Vagner (#4), Zack Matik (#00), Sean Fatiga (#2), T. Edwards (#18), and J. Guifarro (#20) all saw playing time, with every substitute used.
The scoring began in the 20th minute when Uche Wokocha (#10) finished a cross from Luke McNamee (#23), giving Atlantic City a 1-0 lead at halftime. The defense, including Cahill, Forsyth, Perlaza, and McGuigan, kept First State at bay, with Moroney securing the goal. In the 72nd minute, substitute Sean Fatiga (#2), Atlantic City’s second all-time leading scorer and Widener University’s top goalscorer, connected with Aiden McGuigan (#14) and beat two defenders to score, making it 2-0. Four minutes later, in the 76th minute, James Cahill (#12) scored from a Uche Wokocha corner kick, finalizing the 3-0 scoreline. Zack Matik (#00) replaced Moroney in goal in the 78th minute, helping maintain the clean sheet, while Hudak, Ceccanechio, Vagner, Edwards, and Guifarro contributed late in the match.
