Atlantic City FC Rallies to Defeat Kingston Stockade 3–1 in Historic First Meeting
In a long-awaited showdown between two founding members of The League for Clubs, Atlantic City FC secured a statement 3–1 victory over Kingston Stockade FC on Saturday night at Stockton University. Despite trailing 1–0 at halftime, the Aces stormed back with three unanswered goals in the second half to claim all three points.
Kingston opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, capitalizing on early pressure and taking advantage of gaps in the Atlantic City defense. Goalkeeper Zachary Matik (Stockton University) kept the hosts in the game with several key stops to limit the damage.
Atlantic City responded after the break with a dominant display. Ryan Cleary (Stockton University) headed home the equalizer from a corner kick, and Daniel Gonzalez (Atlantic City High School) put the Aces ahead with a rocket from outside the box—his fifth goal in just two games. Mateo Rodriguez came off the bench to seal the win with a brilliant 20-yard strike into the top corner.
The victory lifts Atlantic City FC to 13 points (4-1-1) on the season. They return to action on Wednesday, July 2, hosting Met Oval at 7:30 PM at Stockton University.
